Dressing Up The Aisles

Posted by Jo on 22 May 2017

Dressing aisles titleWe all love a project that goes like clockwork. Sometimes simplicity really is the key. We were asked to come up with a simple system that could be easily used by a number of stores throughout the country. Fortunately we have a large diversity of products and manufacturing capability, so coming up with the right system was well within our means. Creative thinking, happy customer - sweet as.

Our New Digital Cutter

Posted by Scott on 4 May 2017

Digital CutterAfter Five great years with an earlier model we are pleased to announce our new Esko Kongsberg C44 Digital Cutter. Many years ago all the finishing (trimming and cutting) was done by hand, and while it worked we just couldn't cope with the volume. Moving on we have really streamlined our systems as evident in our very quick, high volume turnaround times, just not possible back then. The new cutter in some ways is more of the same. The real benefits are in the backend.

Go on - win that bike

Posted by Jo on 4 May 2016

FC winabike 1When Progressive Enterprises came to us with an idea that needed a solution - we were all over it. We got some of our creative minds together to come up with point of sale material for their Win A Bike promotion. Progressive wanted not just the bikes on show but a bit of personality to boot. Using the branding for the promotion we came up with life-size cutouts that would straddle the bikes in-store.

Big Things

Posted by Scott on 4 August 2013

This Lincoln University display was about all things 'BIG'. From the super-sized chair to lifesize cut-outs holding big props, they all seem to dwarf the iPad plinths. Getting these structures to free stand required some creative thinking. We like a challenge and happily accepted the request.

Visiting Reefton

Posted by Scott on 7 December 2012

This is a cool project we completed recently. Next time you're headed to, or through Reefton, shoot into the visitor centre and learn a bit about this part of the country. Jeff and Jono travelled over for a few days to put this display work together. Check out the pictures below.

Another Dimension

Posted by Scott on 11 July 2011

There are so many ways to showcase your logo or design. This is an example of building signage produced using dimensional elements. You create a whole host of effects that two dimensional signage cannot show, such as highlighting and soft shadows created by the sun and/or artificial lighting. Digital profile cutting can be achieved in many ways. Laser cutting, routering and hot-knifing to name a few. We produce many dimensional products in-house. The installation of our Esko Kongsberg digital cutter has opened the door to a world of 3D products. These include letters and elements cut from thick plastics, to thick corrugated cards which can be assembled into shelves and boxes for promotional use.

Visual Merchandising

Posted by Scott on 6 July 2011

Here's a look at what can be done with digital print and digital cutting for retail environments. These pics are from the Glassons Queenstown store. There's a range of media used here with the bulk of the props printed and cut out of recycled heavy card. To create eye-catching displays such as these, you need very clever creative people to concept the ideas and generate the graphics, from then on it's down to technical details that we take care of at prepress. Our high-end software rotates, shifts and squeezes as many props as it can on a sheet of material to get maximum bang for your buck. Not like the old days when every shape was treated as a box. It also makes sure that your images bleed outside the keyline, even if you've got no bleed to spare (very clever indeed!). But wait there's more... It's all world class stuff and it can be done pretty quickly too. We understand the demands of retail and we're geared up to provide a high level of service. Give us a call and see what your next project can be.

The Kongsberg Has Landed

Posted by Scott on 10 March 2011

We added this fancy bit of kit to our arsenal last month. It's a digital cutting table and does whole lot of really cool stuff. Without getting all technical on you, this table is deigned to cut out and crease stuff. It utilises a whole bunch of tools and knives to chomp through and cut up materials like corrugated card, corflute, aluminium composite, plastics and acrylics, card and paper. It can cut and crease materials to make boxes, ideal for mock-ups or short runs. Rigid panels can be cut to shape as opposed to standard old straight cuts. Need straight cuts, we can make your panels perfectly square. Having this facility in-house also increases our capacity for fast turnaround of cut to shape goods. It is a perfect match to our printing capabilities.

Cut To Shape Printing

Posted by Scott on 19 January 2010

Your graphics don't have to be finished in square or rectangular shapes to be cost effective. Using laser, router and flatbed cutting technology we can supply your graphics in pretty much any shape and form. Our flatbed printer prints your image directly to the substrate which is cut to shape.
