Bringing kids' artwork to life at Margaret Mahy Family Playground

We love doing murals, so when we were approached to reproduce artworks designed by Christchurch school kids, we naturally wanted to be part of it. Murals are one of our specialties, and outdoor murals are a fair bit rarer than their indoor counterparts. With exposure to the elements to consider, we landed on the right product for the job, and our attention to detail helped the project turn out a real stunner.

Project: Margaret Mahy Family Playground

Background on the project:

The playground is believed to be one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. It was designed with input from the city's school children, reflecting Canterbury's four main habitat types, a forest zone, a peninsula zone, a plains zone and a wetlands area. Highlights include a double flying fox, a four metre wide slide, water play areas and a spider climbing net.

The artwork on the facilities block was provided by Canterbury school children, who entered the Tremendous Tatty Patchwork colouring competition. The winning entries feature on the walls.

We digitally printed and applied graphics to the utilities block at the playground.
