Profile cutting refers to the automated cutting of flat materials into predefined shapes, opening up creative possibilities beyond simple printed substrates. At Adgraphix, we use both our Kongsberg digital cutting table and Thunder Nova laser cutters to handle an extensive range of materials and geometries.

Digital Router Cutting (Kongsberg)

• Materials: Card, corflute, foam board, vinyl, thin plastics

• Capabilities: Fast, straight-edge panels; nesting multiple shapes to maximise sheet usage; automatic bleed addition when artwork lacks it

• Benefits: Consistent, repeatable cuts; minimal manual finishing; rapid setup for small to large production runs

Laser Cutting (Thunder Nova)

• Materials: Acrylics, wood, metals (thin gauge), fabrics, paper

• Capabilities: Intricate detail, fine engraving, piercing, and cutting in a single pass

• Benefits: Very fine edge quality; ability to produce delicate or complex shapes; ideal for detailed signage elements and decorative inserts

Dimensional Elements

• Milling: Thicker materials—plastics, polystyrene, timber, metals—can be milled into 3D logos and lettering.

• Visual Impact: Once mounted, these pieces catch light and shadow, adding depth and presence to any installation.

Packaging Samples

• Short to Medium Runs: Combine digital/laser cutting with UV-curable or latex flatbed printing.

• Processes: Cut, crease, and V-notch materials such as card, Dispa, and corflute for ready-to-assemble prototypes.

• Durability: Latex-printed graphics flex around corners without cracking, making samples look and feel premium.

Fabrication & Props

• V-Notching & Creasing: On materials like Xanita board and corflute for quick assembly of boxes, display units, and point-of-sale props.

• Custom Builds: From lightweight shelving and tables to bespoke merchandising units, cutting and notching tools bring versatile design elements to life.
