Printing With Glass

Posted by Scott on 25 March 2010

If you've ever wondered how well direct printing works on glass, then this is your answer. We have a special process that we use for glass printing that is pretty damn good. One of the issues with printing on glass has been mild adhesion. We have overcome this problem and offer a product which has a higher level of adhesion. See the scratch resistance test photo below. Using a coin and medium pressure there is no noticeable effect on the print. Even under heavy pressure it puts up a very good fight.

Glassons have recently opened their new look fashion playgrounds in Palmerston North and at Riccarton, Christchurch. It's a whole new look for Glassons stores and they are awesome. Yeah, we are biased, but we are stoked with our input into this new concept. We have worked closely with Glassons for many years producing their visual merchandising. Here are some of the visuals we created for the project. There is a mix of all sorts of printing techniques and technology used in the production of them.

Talk the Talk - Walk the Walk

Posted by Scott on 25 February 2010

We have been printing interpretation graphics since the early 2000's. Over time we have gained a lot of knowledge about what works and what doesn't. We have a huge arsenal of products for all sorts of applications, indoors and outdoors. These images are examples of signage that has been out in the weather and attracting attention of vandals. The first image is a north facing sign that has been in place for just over 5 years. It's got a few war wounds in the form of light scratches but the printed image is holding up exceptionally well and is a good example of the durability of our printing.

2010 World Buskers Festival

Posted by Scott on 29 January 2010

With the World Buskers Festival well underway, it's time to show some of the printing we produced for the event. There is plenty of yellow (this years theme colour) around the city at the moment. Adgraphix has produced billboards, teardrop flags and all sorts of directional signage and banners for the event. It's a really cool time to be in Christchurch. If you have'nt seen any of the acts yet, make sure you head in before the 31st when the festival concludes and catch some of the fun. If you made it to the Christchurch International Airport Busker Comedy Club on the 25th and you thought you saw Jeff on stage, you were right. He wore his pick me face and made it on stage twice, the second to show his skills at hula hooping!

You Just Push Print Don't You?

Posted by Scott on 18 January 2010

It's true, the easiest thing about digital printing is buying (if the bank likes you) the machine. Yes, the printers are automated, but they require quite a lot of user interaction to make the difference between a good print and a not so good print. Taking a closer look at the not so good prints, it comes down to a few important details which require additional skills, than just sending files to a machine. Here is a small snapshot of some baddies we avoid in the background.
